Dierdre received her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Vanderbilt University.  She is board-certified as an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner treating neurological, psychiatric, neuropsychiatric, and neurocognitive conditions in a variety of settings for 12 years.

Deirdre’s informal and non-judgmental approach helps patients relax and feel comfortable as she gets to know them as individuals, helping identify positive changes and developing and implementing a treatment plan.  She treats patients age 13 and up for conditions including ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and personality disorders.

She also has interest and experience in treating psychiatric symptoms associated with chronic neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Epilepsy, and Parkinson’s Disease.

Deirdre performs thorough evaluations and will develop a treatment plan that includes both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatments.  She employs a holistic treatment approach that can involve a combination of psychoeducation, diagnostic testing, medication, nutrition, exercise, relaxation techniques, yoga, meditation, supportive counseling, and when appropriate, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Ketamine treatments.

“I’ll collaborate closely with your primary care provider and your therapist in managing your treatment. I’m eager to get to know you and help you work toward your best possible life,” she said.
