Julie Goch, LPCC
Julie joins the Alleviant team after 10 years of experience as a therapist. She has a passion for assisting people dealing with depression and anxiety as they regain hope for their lives. Julie earned a master’s degree in Education/Clinical Counseling from Malone University in 2009. She has practiced therapy with a variety of ages: children, teens, young adults and families, working in residential, intensive in-home, school-based, and private practice settings. Julie utilizes therapeutic approaches such as DBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Experiential, Art Therapy, and Client-Centered to assist patients in their mental health recovery.
Coming on staff with Alleviant Akron was a natural and easy decision for Julie, as she believes in the power of holistic health. She makes it a priority to practice mindfulness in her own life and she utilizes holistic approaches in her therapy with clients. Julie speaks with all of her clients about the importance of self-care and how it can be applied to their lives.
Julie enjoys traveling to NYC and around the world with her husband. She also loves hanging out with her dogs at home during downtime. She is a volunteer with Multiple Breed Rescue where she does “freedom rides” and helps pull dogs from deplorable and abusive homes or the pound and brings them to a better life in foster homes.
