Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

TMS is a non-invasive procedure for treatment-resistant depression. It delivers magnetic impulses through an electromagnetic coil to the prefrontal cortex, the region of the brain associated with mood control. TMS helps nerves begin to communicate again and reinforces positive nerve pathways. Therapy takes place five days a week for four to six weeks. Each treatment lasts less than 4 minutes. TMS is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression. We preauthorize patients to make sure that their insurance is accepted.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient Eastern healing practice that uses needles to stimulate sensory nerves, facilitating efficient communication with the brain. As a result, acupuncture treatments trigger a release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, to travel through the body and bring healing and relaxation. At Alleviant, we use acupuncture in the treatment of pain conditions like migraine headaches and arthritis, and mood disorders like depression, anxiety, PTSD and OCD.
