Kathlene Smith-Crase, Nurse Practitioner

M. Kathlene “Kat” Smith-Crase, MSN, PMHNP-BC

M. Kathlene “Kat” Smith-Crase serves as a Nurse Practitioner at Alleviant Integrated Mental Health in Fort Smith. She joined the team in September 2025. Kat holds nursing degrees from Eastern Oklahoma State College, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, with a focus on child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry.

Her career in mental health began in the late 1990s at a state hospital in Kentucky, where she quickly recognized the gap between mental health care and other areas of medicine. This inspired her to advocate for patients and dedicate her career to finding solutions that improve lives.

“I feel thankful to be in a place where I can help patients discover solutions, contribute to positive outcomes, and make a lasting difference in their lives.”

Kat enjoys meeting patients, supporting their growth, and helping them create positive changes. Outside of work, she spends time with her husband of 15 years, her two children, and her pets. She also plays bass guitar in her church, leads Bible studies, and enjoys riding motorcycles and being outdoors.
