Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Every Brain Is Unique — And Deserves to Be Understood, Not Judged
Autism is not a disease — it’s a difference in how the brain processes the world. But when that difference creates barriers in communication, social connection, or daily functioning, it can lead to frustration, anxiety, and isolation — for both the individual and the family.
At Alleviant Integrated Mental Health, we don’t try to “fix” autism. We listen. We support. And we help each person thrive through precision-guided care, clinical compassion, and brain-based tools that respect and celebrate neurodiversity.
Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis in a child or seeking support for an adult with ASD, we’re here to walk beside you.
What Is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)?
ASD is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person communicates, processes sensory input, forms relationships, and experiences the world. The word “spectrum” reflects the wide variation in strengths and challenges among individuals.
Autism can be diagnosed in early childhood, but many adults live undiagnosed — especially women or those with high-functioning traits.
Common Traits of ASD
Difficulty with eye contact or social interaction
Repetitive behaviors or intense interest in specific topics
Sensory sensitivities (light, sound, textures)
Delayed or unusual speech patterns
Struggles with transitions or changes in routine
Anxiety, meltdowns, or shutdowns when overwhelmed
Deep focus, creativity, and strong visual or logical skills
Co-occurring conditions like ADHD, anxiety, depression, or OCD
We See the Whole Person — Not Just a Label
At Alleviant, we treat autism with understanding, not assumptions. Through our Objective Psychiatry model, we use spectral EEG (sEEG) to map brain activity and better understand what’s happening beneath the surface. For many individuals on the spectrum, brainwave patterns show distinct dysregulation — which we can address through highly personalized treatment.
Whether the goal is to improve emotional regulation, communication, focus, or daily functioning — we build a plan that respects each person’s identity and potential.
Care Options for Autism at Alleviant
Comprehensive Psychiatry (In-Person or Telehealth)
We support children, teens, and adults with ASD through tailored psychiatric care. This includes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment of co-occurring conditions (like anxiety or ADHD), and guidance for families and caregivers.
Medication Management
When appropriate, medication may help reduce anxiety, aggression, or attention-related symptoms. We carefully assess benefits and use pharmacogenetic testing to guide safe and effective treatment.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
TMS is not FDA-approved for autism, but our advanced, off-label Personalized rTMS (NeuroSync™) may be helpful in supporting emotional regulation, sleep, attention, and focus in select individuals.
Guided by sEEG brain data, NeuroSync™ targets brainwave disruptions unique to each person’s neurological profile. Call (501) 914-0119 to learn more about .NeuroSync™.
Therapy (In-Person or Telehealth)
Therapy can help build social-emotional awareness, reduce anxiety, and support daily skills. Our team uses CBT, behavioral therapy, and neurodivergent-affirming approaches suited to each age and communication style.
Spectral EEG (sEEG)
Many individuals with ASD experience irregularities in brainwave activity, particularly in attention, sensory processing, and emotional regulation. Our sEEG brain scan allows us to identify these patterns and guide care based on brain data — not guesswork.
Health Coaching (Telehealth)
Our health coaches support the physical foundation for brain balance by addressing nutritional imbalances (such as gut-brain axis issues, food sensitivities, or nutrient deficiencies), toxic exposures (e.g., environmental triggers, mold, heavy metals, overstimulation), and deficiencies in routine, movement, hydration, or restorative sleep. This helps stabilize the body and support daily function — especially for individuals with sensory or behavioral regulation challenges.
We Embrace Neurodiversity — While Supporting Growth
You or your child are not defined by a diagnosis. With the right tools, understanding, and support, individuals with autism can thrive, connect, and live meaningful, empowered lives. We’re here to help make that journey easier.
