Dru Cessna, LPC

Dru Cessna, LPC, is a licensed therapist at Alleviant in Bentonville, specializing in adult individual, couple, and family therapy. She brings a unique and deeply compassionate perspective to her work, combining decades of professional experience with a lifelong passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges.

Dru earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with honors from University of Arkansas, her Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law, and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University in 2019.

Before entering the mental health field full time, Dru practiced law for 25 years, most notably serving as Associate General Counsel in the corporate legal department at Walmart. She later transitioned into counseling and spent six years with Summit Family Counseling, where she developed a strong reputation for compassionate, client-centered care.

Dru has wanted to become a therapist since fourth grade, inspired by a fascination with people’s stories and a desire to help others, much like her father, who was a pediatrician. She believes therapy should be a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel truly heard, seen, and supported. She finds the greatest fulfillment in helping clients discover peace, clarity, relief, and healing.

Originally from Fort Smith, Dru grew up in a close-knit family and remains deeply connected to her roots. Outside of work, she enjoys tennis, reading, hiking, boating, and volunteering with local animal rescue organizations. She and her husband share their home with two rescue dogs and two rescue cats, and she proudly says she would have “hundreds of pets” if she could.
