Nickolle Karns, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Nickolle Karns, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Alleviant Health Centers in Fort Smith. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in February 2026 and joined Alleviant in May 2026. Nickolle brings a strong background in psychiatric care, with experience in inpatient mental health since 2018 as well as four years in school nursing.
Her passion for mental health began during a nursing school rotation, where she discovered a deep connection to the field and the impact it has on patients’ lives. Nickolle is drawn to Alleviant’s advanced level of care and team-based approach, allowing her to collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered treatment.
She finds the most fulfillment in building meaningful relationships with her patients and supporting them through their healing journeys. As she shares, “When a patient experiences a positive outcome, it brings a profound sense of fulfillment and joy. Knowing that my efforts and the therapeutic relationship have contributed to their mental well-being reinforces my commitment to the profession.” Patients often describe Nickolle as humble and down-to-earth, qualities that help foster trust and connection in her care.
Born and raised in Arkansas, Nickolle enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, boating, hunting, and being outdoors. She and her husband have four children and are excited to welcome their first grandchild. Their lively household also includes three dogs, one cat, two pet squirrels, and two pet raccoons.
