Individuals with Eating Disorders

When Food Becomes a Battle, We Help You Find Peace With Your Body and Mind

Eating disorders are not about vanity or willpower. They are complex mental health conditions that often reflect deeper emotional pain, trauma, perfectionism, or a need for control. Whether you’re restricting, purging, bingeing, or obsessing over food and your body, you’re not alone — and you are not beyond help.

At Alleviant Integrated Mental Health, we offer compassionate, evidence-based treatment for eating disorders across the spectrum — restoring not just nutritional balance, but emotional regulation, body image, and brain function. You deserve freedom — and healing is possible.

What Are Eating Disorders?

Eating disorders include a range of conditions characterized by unhealthy relationships with food, weight, and body image. Common diagnoses include:

  • Anorexia Nervosa (restriction and weight loss despite being underweight)

  • Bulimia Nervosa (cycles of bingeing and purging)

  • Binge Eating Disorder (recurrent overeating without purging)

  • Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)

  • Orthorexia (obsession with “clean” or “perfect” eating)

Many individuals struggle silently or experience overlapping symptoms without fitting a single diagnosis. At Alleviant, we treat the person, not just the label.

Signs of an Eating Disorder

  • Obsessive thoughts about food, weight, or body image

  • Skipping meals, hiding eating habits, or secretive food behavior

  • Binge eating followed by guilt, shame, or purging

  • Avoiding social events that involve food

  • Excessive exercise or rigid food rules

  • Significant weight changes or digestive issues

  • Mood swings, anxiety, or isolation

Eating disorders often coexist with anxiety, trauma, OCD, or depression — and they require integrated care that addresses both physical and emotional roots.

A Whole-Person Approach to Recovery

At Alleviant, we use Objective Psychiatry to support healing at the neurological level, alongside personalized therapy, nutrition support, and medical stabilization. Through spectral EEG (sEEG) and NeuroSync™, we address brain-based dysregulation that often underlies disordered eating patterns — helping to restore impulse control, emotional regulation, and body-brain connection.

Treatment Options for Eating Disorders at Alleviant

Comprehensive Psychiatry (In-Person or Telehealth)

Our psychiatric providers treat the emotional, neurological, and medical dimensions of eating disorders — including co-occurring conditions and nutritional stabilization. We create a safe, supportive plan for long-term recovery.

Medication Management

Medications may be used to treat anxiety, depression, or OCD symptoms that fuel disordered eating. We personalize every treatment and use pharmacogenetic testing when appropriate to guide decision-making.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)

TMS is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment for depression and OCD — both of which frequently co-occur with eating disorders. We also offer NeuroSync™ (Personalized Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) — a cutting-edge, off-label version of TMS guided by your sEEG data. By optimizing the brain’s intrinsic harmonics, NeuroSync™ helps regulate mood, compulsive behaviors, and the internal stress circuitry.

Therapy (In-Person or Telehealth)

Therapy is essential for healing distorted thinking, trauma, shame, and control patterns. Our team uses CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and body image therapy, always working with empathy and respect.

Spectral EEG (sEEG)

Our non-invasive sEEG scan maps real-time brainwave activity — revealing patterns in emotional regulation, executive function, and body image perception. This data guides treatment and allows us to track neurophysiological improvement over time.

Health Coaching (Telehealth)

Our certified health coaches work alongside your care team to support nutritional imbalances affecting mental health and metabolism, toxic exposures (e.g., inflammation, overtraining, environmental triggers), and deficiencies in micronutrients, hydration, movement, or sleep. Health coaching helps restore the physical foundation for sustainable recovery.

You are more than the voice in your head.

We understand that recovery can feel scary, but it is possible. You are not defined by your weight, your habits, or your past. You are worthy of nourishment—body, mind, and soul.
