DUAL DIAGNOSIS
A dual diagnosis is a mental disorder compounded by substance abuse or addiction, including alcohol. That creates a complex condition with a wide variety of effects that are often difficult to manage.
Patients with mental health conditions sometimes turn to drugs and alcohol to self-medicate to manage or cope with the already present stress, fear, and anxiety. The issues co-exist and may result in noticeable changes in behavior, personality, and mood along with suicidal thoughts and confused thinking.
It’s recommended the two issues be treated together, as one cannot be healed without the other issue being addressed. Some mental health issues often linked to dual diagnosis include attention-deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It’s estimated that 45 percent of Americans suffer from dual diagnoses.

Ketamine Infusion Therapy
Ketamine Infusion Therapy can provide rapid relief from depressive symptoms for a significant number of patients. In controlled, specific amounts, ketamine stimulates the creation and remodeling of neurons that have atrophied in depression. Approximately 70% of patients may experience a significant reduction in symptoms – many during their first infusion, which creates an excellent opportunity for rapid healing of emotional trauma with a therapist post infusion.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
TMS is a non-invasive procedure for treatment-resistant depression. It delivers magnetic impulses through an electromagnetic coil to the prefrontal cortex, the region of the brain associated with mood control. TMS helps nerves begin to communicate again and reinforces positive nerve pathways. Therapy takes place five days a week for four to six weeks. Each treatment lasts less than 4 minutes. TMS is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression. We will preauthorize you to make sure that your insurance is accepted.
