Channing is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Alleviant’s North Little Rock location. She holds a Master of Science in nursing from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Channing was led to a career in mental health after seeing the need for more providers and being dedicated to a life of compassionate service.

“I have the ability to connect with people, and those connections foster a sense of trust,” she said. “Trust is a vital component in providing mental health services and opens the door that leads down the path to wellness.”

The most enjoyable part of her job is being able to give hope where it has seemingly been lost.

“Every outcome won’t always be positive, but if you can get clients to buy into the process and be committed to doing the work, then that’s a win,” she said. “When a client has a positive outcome, I feel bliss. I love when clients actually get to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.”

Known as honest, caring, and compassionate, she was born and raised in south Arkansas.

“I come from a family of seven – parents, two brothers and two sisters (one sister is my twin). It is a loving and extremely supportive village. I was taught the importance of being a person of your word and treating others with dignity and respect.”

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her Maltipoo, Enzo.

“I enjoy attending church and serving the community,” she said. “I enjoy all things sports, especially football and basketball. I enjoy listening to music, and when I can hear live music, that’s an added bonus!”
