Kim Gates, MSN, APRN-FNP, PMHNP

Kim is a psychiatric nurse practitioner at Alleviant’s Little Rock location. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and is dual board certified in family and psychiatric mental health from Walden University.

Kim started her health care career as a registered nurse at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and advanced practice registered nurse at Primary Care and Internal Medicine in North Little Rock.

“From the beginning of my healthcare career, the disconnect between the treatment of mental health and physical health became apparent,” Kim said. “This led me to further invest my time into bridging that gap. Collaboration with the client’s entire care team is essential to formulating the most unique experience and plan. I enjoy supporting patient’s along with their families in navigating this journey.”

Known as funny, kind, and encouraging, she said the hardest part of her job is breaking the stigma around mental health.

A native of North Little Rock, Kim enjoys reading, watching sports, and laughing in her free time.
