Raymond H. Clark, MD
Raymond H. Clark, MD, is a collaborative psychiatrist at Alleviant Integrated Mental Health. based at the Little Rock location, Dr. Clark works with Medical Director David C. Haas, MD, to collaborate with Alleviant psychiatric nurse practitioners, perform patient chart reviews, order medications, and perform transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and Spravato therapy.
Dr. Clark said he was drawn to Alleviant because it offers non-traditional modalities, including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine and Spravato therapy.
“We’re realizing the medications maybe aren’t quite as good as we thought at first,” he said. “Antidepressants, how many people are treatment resistant to those? TMS and ketamine treatments are really helpful, because you may have a person that is ‘handling’ their depression, but maybe not living their best life. They try one of these treatment options and realize they aren’t having to deal it anymore. That’s where these treatments have a lot of potential and can really be beneficial. Plus, there’s less fear of addiction with these treatments.”
Certified by the American Board in Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Clark earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry at the University of Arkansas in 1987, his MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1992, and served as a psychiatry resident at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas from 1992-1996.
In his time away from work, Dr. Clark and his wife love to travel, participate in leisure activities, and attend Razorback games in Fayetteville. The couple, who have been married since 1993, have two adult sons.
