Trisha Burns, MSN, APRN, PMHNP

Trisha Burns is a certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Alleviant’s Jonesboro location. She has experience working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. In 2021, she was selected as one of America’s Top 10 Nurse Practitioners by World Life Leaders In Healthcare.

Trisha focuses on psychiatric medication management for a variety of mental health disorders, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD and ADHD. She is also experienced in providing alternative treatment options for depression, such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato.

While she works with all ages across the lifespan, her passion lies with children, adolescents, and teens.

Trisha earned a Master of Science in nursing from Walden University in 2018 and a bachelor of science in nursing, with a minor in deaf education, from Southwest Missouri State University in 2005. She came to Alleviant from St. Bernards Medical Center; prior to that, she worked as a travel nurse in different hospitals across the United States.

“I feel it is important to connect with our patients and utilize all potential resources to better improve their quality of life,” Trisha said. “I believe in a healthy balance of the mind, body, and spirit- a wholistic approach. It all begins and ends in your mind, which is why it is so important to make yourself a priority.

“Alleviant is different because it has a wholistic approach. It’s not just focused on medication, but encourages people to be aware of how their diet, exercise, and lifestyle play roles in their physical and mental health.

A wife and mother of two, Trisha enjoys sports, outdoor activities, karate, and weekend getaways to fuel her mind, body, and spirit.
