DEPRESSION
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn’t worth living.
Depression is considered treatment-resistant if the individual hasn’t responded to adequate doses of two different antidepressants taken for a sufficient duration of time, which is usually six weeks

How We Help
At Alleviant Health Centers, our mission is to find the root of your depression and create a path of healing, tailored to your unique situation. This path may consist of a variety of tools, such as talk-therapy, medications, lifestyle coaching, ketamine therapy, mindfulness training, or transcranial magnetic stimulation. We do everything possible to help you reach health and balance.
Traditionally, medical professionals have separated the mind from the body and treated them as two separate entities. Now, we are just beginning to understand the significant interplay of the mind, body, and spirit. The gut-brain connection is now a well-established determination of mental health. Over the past five years, there has been a significant shift from a stagnant, traditional, medication-based approach to holistic, integrated psychiatry.
Holistic treatments focus on non-medication-based healing solutions, such as:
- Lifestyle management
- Nutritional
- Mindfulness supplementation
- Massage therapy
Integrated psychiatry, on the other hand, coordinates multiple medical specialties and nutritional science to improve illness.
In our therapy, we combine holistic and integrative medicine, which allows us to provide you with a unique treatment plan based upon your genetics, nutritional status, and biochemical assay. This approach addresses the fundamental source of your depression and restores your natural state of balance and peace.

Ketamine Infusion Therapy
Ketamine Infusion Therapy can provide rapid relief from depressive symptoms for a significant number of patients. In controlled, specific amounts, ketamine stimulates the creation and remodeling of neurons that have atrophied in depression. Approximately 70% of patients may experience a significant reduction in symptoms – many during their first infusion, which creates an excellent opportunity for rapid healing of emotional trauma with a therapist post infusion.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
TMS is a non-invasive procedure for treatment-resistant depression. It delivers magnetic impulses through an electromagnetic coil to the prefrontal cortex, the region of the brain associated with mood control. TMS helps nerves begin to communicate again and reinforces positive nerve pathways. Therapy takes place five days a week for four to six weeks. Each treatment lasts less than 4 minutes. TMS is FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression. We will preauthorize you to make sure that your insurance is accepted.
